He’s the Eighth Doctor.
He lived out his life to the point that he became older, because he’d lived through the many years of the Time War. And he was the one to end it. He’s the one who wasn’t the Doctor anymore.
And at the end of his life, he died, becoming the stubborn and serious Ninth incarnation.
It’s one of the few parts of the Doctor’s life we’ve never seen. And it’s the one part of which he’s most ashamed.

I think that John Hurt is the Valeyard, the being we call the Doctor, but not the identity. Valeyard is ancient Gallifreyan for prosecutor or executor. A judge. This is the amalgamation, or grand collection, of everything the Doctor hates about himself. That he hates to be a monster.
We know that what kills a time lord is what defines their next self. Nine was detached and broken when he first met Rose. Consider the Valeyard as 8.5. Perhaps he felt rage and passion and alone when he died.
I think the Valeyard was ruthless in the time war. I think that he made decisions and judgements that later regenerations would feel remorse for. His secret.
This regeneration broke the promise of the Doctor: to heal and help. He disinherited his own identity. We get to keep the Eccleston!Nine, Tennant!Ten, and Smith!Eleven.

Awkward. Dr. Seuss and his wife were really liberal and pro-choice. They’ve even threatened to sue pro-life organizations for using this quote the wrong way (the way you’re doing it actually). I guess you didn’t already know that Horton Hears a Who is about the American occupation of Japan post-WWII. He even dedicated it to his dear Japanese friend.

“What worries me about Yahoo! buying Tumblr is how it would choose to incorporate the website into its email and homepage features. One of the reasons why Tumblr is so unique is because it’s a niche market. By adding more users who don’t fit into this niche, it would make it more difficult for communities to develop within Tumblr, and Tumblr would have to change to accommodate these new users. Tumblr as a website is not the kind that you can sign up for in a day and be on your way. It is a website crafted so that you can immediately post but must spend several weeks, sometimes even months, to build a community. With new users who would not be willing to spend time growing a community, Tumblr would have to be changed, which would alienate its current users. No one is going to mind Yahoo! buying the website and gaining a few extra million dollars per year from the minimal advertising; what we will be upset with is if a company like Yahoo! then changes the website to increase casual users and decrease dedicated users. As much as is does sound like a load of bullshit for someone to buy Tumblr, it’s a possibility. I Personally think it should stay independent and I hope David Karp keeps a hold of it like his own child. Or we make enough noise to where such major changes (if bought) will not happen.
